According to Los Angeles Times, Kidman would portray Wasikowska's India Stoker's mother. Firth, meanwhile, is offered a role of India's mysterious uncle who returns to the family after the death of the girl's father. Both actors reportedly have met with Park this week "to discuss the nuances of their roles."
A family mystery-drama, "Stoker" is written by "Prison Break" actor Wentworth Miller. Jodie Foster was once attached to play the girl's mother, but later she dropped out. Production is scheduled to start in late spring and thus it is likely to be Firth's first film after shooting "The King's Speech".
Both Kidman and Firth are nominated in the upcoming Academy Awards; the former is for her role in "Rabbit Hole" while the latter is for his portrayal of King George VI in "The King's Speech". Kidman can next be seen in hostage drama "Trespass" which also stars Nicolas Cage, and Firth is set to star in "Gambit" remake which would probably be filmed after "Stoker".
